TO the event planners lk chappy and tony..
we wont be out till next thur..and it will be a 1 day kind of booking out.
so any outing will have to be at least 3 weeks later..sigh my anticipation for army is slowly turning into fear and worriness...haha

A Day in the Life of 4F, Sunday, 28thMarch2004
So Sunday 28thMarch ended of with a bang,or more of a 'pop'. Soccer at Chijmes was marred by the crazy angmoh who kept calling Arsenal a team of wankers. Though i'm a man U fan through and through, i do not condone that lunatic actions, what with using his hands to do obscene gestures at the screen and to ppl around. He is the biggest wanker of them all for doing that. Apart from that, the turnout was good: Bala,Dama,Heng,Joshie,Caifong,chichi,not-smoking chappy,kai,kwantiong and me.(left out anyone?) Our mouths were filled with alocholic beverages like beer and cocktails and a delectable array of mixed nuts. But it was really the crazy caucasian that drove us nuts.
Soccer earlier in the day was as usual fun like hell. Bala revealed his 6pack and welltoned upper body while we witnessed leslie's F4 hairstyle. Not surprisingly, army life was the hottest conversation of the day and it occupied mostly every moment of our dialogues. The routine lunch at S11 was to be expected and so there was where we reminisced good ol' RI days again ordering a few bowls of guess what? Thats right smart boys...Qiu Lian Ban Mian.
Well in brief, that was what happened for those who turned up. For those who did not,we'll see each other sooner or later again, and till then, we'll be connected in heart and memories.

woah, just got home after a long nite man... basically, for those who didnt turn up, we went to a pub in CHIJMES with a very good ambience and audience (i 'vaguely' remember who ang mohs cursing and swearing so agitatedly... haha!). though i'm no soccer fan, the match was entertaining as i made a few interesting observations (there is a fair bit of acting required in soccer... and the supposedly 'injured' player recovers as soon as his team is awarded the free kick...) After that, we were torn between visiting Lau Pa Sat for supper, going to Chee chee's place or going home... being the forever undecisive bunch we are, we finally decided to head home after what seemed like half an hour of loitering around... with Arsenal still undefeated,the match ended in a draw (1-1)...
For those going in again, take care... For those going in soon, take care even more... do keep in contact... miss you all... sighz... (makes me wonder why i am still stuck outside...) =(
PS : The bill for the 10 of us came up to $150.65. That averages out to $15 a drink! oh well... just a bit of trivia... nite everyone...

wah got a class blog quite interesting! for those who are going into army soon, GOOＤ LUCK and all the best! i personally feel that it's damn sian and a total waste of time. like being marooned on the island, will totally lose contact with the outside world. but dun worry la, training's not tough... just have the right attitude and all will be smooth. secrets: as long you can do a reasonable no. of chin ups and pass your ippt, and can do around 80 push ups at one go, army will be no kick for you! haha! dun so suay get into commandos like bobo and leo can liao! =p here's a list on wad to buy/bring in when you enlist.
Personal Belongings :
1. Hangers (8)
2. Undergarments (8-10)
3. Washing powder/detergent (there's no washing machine inside...)
4. Clothes pegs (10-15)
5. Slippers (to and fro bathroom)
6. Tights (optional; if prone to abrasion)
7. Alarm Clock with extra batteries
8. Small radio/ Receiver/ Walkman/ Discman (Self-burn CDs not allowed, MD not allowed)
9. Handphone/ phonecard (cannot bring charger, by right la)
10. Deodorant
11. Money (limit supposed to be $30, but they dun check lar... if lost, your
own business. They accept nets at the e-mart)
Toiletries:
1. Toothpaste and toothbrush
2. Shaver
3. Soap with soap box
*** Items 1-3 will be provided but must be used for standby-bed, so you will
need to bring one set for actually using
4. Facial cleanser
5. Sampoo (SMALL bottle will do, won't need much of it =D)
6. Bath foam (preferred over soap, more convenient)
7. Face towel (optional)
8. Nail clipper
Note: NO COMB, guess why? :)
Basic medication:
1. Deep heat rub/ Counterpain (1 tube)
2. Panadol(Normal/ Flu) (10)
3. Diarrhoea pills (10)
4. Axehead oil (for insect bites)
5. Lozenges (20)
6. Hansaplasts (20)
Stationery
1. Black pens (2-3) (cheap ones, as you're likely to lose them quite easily)
2. Permanent BLACK markers (to mark your belongings)
3. pencil & eraser
Misc:
1. Extra pair of specs
2. Cheap reliable watch
3. Big padlock for metal cabinet (with at least 3 keys)
4. Small padlock for wooden cupboard (with at least 3 keys)
*** 3 keys becos 1 for yourself, 1 is to given to buddy and 1 keep at home
just in case lost
5. rubber bands
6. Prickly Heat (very useful, need a BIG bottle for field camp)
7. Gutters (1 pair)
8. Specs band/hook (hook preferred)
9. Anti-fog foam for specs (optional)
10. Black tape (1-2 rolls) [for tapping loose ends of your SBO and field
pack]
11. Ziplock bags (get various sizes to waterproof belongings -- 1 gallon, &
1/4 gallon)
12. Orange Cloth (1 will be issued but must be clean for standby bed so must
get another for rifle usage)
13. Rags (for area cleaning)
14. Mothballs/ thirsty hippo (to absorb stench and moisture in cabinet)
15. Pyjamas (as in home t-shirt and shorts for sleeping)
Pointers :
1. Try not to bring too many things as you will be only given a small
compartment (and i do mean small) in the cupboard to keep your personal
belongings.
2. Wear a decent shirt(or T-shirt) with jeans on enlistment day (don't bring
extra set of clothing as you will book out in your uniform) During your first book out, you are supposed to bring home your civilian clothes, bags, shoes. However, they allow you to bring and wear your own shoes for ippt tests.
3. Bring some food, cup noodles, tidbits. But try to hide them.
4. Mark your personal belongings clearly to avoid losing them; I have lose
my singlet oredi... (NOTE: mark your uniforms only AFTER you have tried them
and have ensured that they fit)
5. Bring along your personal bank account no. and your parents' NRIC number. Also bring along a photocopied set of your education transcripts. (may not be urgent, can bring in when u next book in)
6. You will be issued with 5 sets of uniform, of which 4 have to be used for
standby bed, so if you know your size or if you have old uniform with can be
used, bring them along cos you can use them for the standby and can wear the
other sets...
7. You will be issued with 2 singlets, 2 t-shirts and 2 PT shorts, you will
need more than that, if you know your size already, get some more from Beach
Road as 1 full set (1 singlet, t-shirt and shorts) has to be used for
standby bed as well. Recommended to buy 2 more sets.

There may be an outing this sunday (28 Mar 04)... maybe meet up for dinner then go watch soccer and hang out somewhere... however, i cannot get a location for us to stay over cuz nick's house can't be used... maybe we stay at bryant's house or feima's house (oei, brendan, can or not??)...
Anyway, please help me spread the news around, whoever can see this message... thanks... really wish to meet up this sunday cuz after this week, the next batch of people booking in liao, then those who coming out will be so busy... please please please try to make it...
